    Bel Aire
      music: Mana, Lyrics: Gackt

So, open your eyes and look at me now!
Can't you see it? There's warmth yet even in the time*
that I have clasped away in the palm of my hand
Already in a place without any pain
Even now what are you thinking

Saa me o akete boku o mite
        yo
        Hora mada nukumori sae
boku no te no hira ni dakarete iru genjitsu (ima) wa
Mou itami mo nai naka de
Anata wa nani o ima* mo omotte iru no

As my back is enfolded by the darkness I paint pictures in the night,
        controlled by something of time*

Kono senaka o tsutsumu yoru to yami ni e o ekaku
              boku wa
Toki to iu na no mono (aruji) ni ayatsurarete
In the expances of the sky, in my memories floating by,
I gazed at us two dancing and cried
Until the end, in this place where I can't even say goodbye,
I want to embrace you as you had died*
       Oozora in ukabeta omoide
        no naka de
odoru futari o mitsume naite ita
Saigo made saiyonara sae iezu kono bashou de
nemuri ni ochita anata o daite itakute
And as you sway your feet float in the sky...

            Yurenagara* ashi o ukase...
In the night that increases my pain you repeat that phrase*
And as your feet float into the sky you sway
       Kono itami o kasu yoru
ni onaji kotoba o kuri kaeshi
yurenagara sora ni ashi o ukasete
In the expances of the sky, in my memories floating by,
you gaze back at me and smile
Until the end I reach out my arms to you,
and in a dwindling voice pray that this is reality
       Oozora ni ukabeta omoide
        no naka de
boku o mitsumeta anata wa hohoende
Saigo made ude o nobashite usurete iku koe wa
ima o mitsumeru koto o inotte
      Softly

In the expanses of the sky, in my memories floating by
the two of us even now smile as we dance
In these arms that tell the end of the long night I want to hold you as
        you sleep

            Sotto

Oozora ni ukabeta omoide no naka de
odoru futari wa ima mo hohoende
Nagai yoru no owari o tsugeru kono ude de
nemuri ni ochita anata o daite itakute
As you sway your feet float in the sky...
As you sway you are drawn to the sky...

            Yurenagara ashi o ukase....
Yurenagara sora ni ki o yosete...

      * Bel Aire (beautiful air) can also mean verte aile
        (green...i forgot).
This is probably important to Gackt, judging from his comments on "le
        ciel."
        * Gackt uses "ima" (now) here,
but he writes it as "genjitsu" (reality).
        * "mono" (thing) was written "shihaisha"
        (ruler)
        * the actual meaning is "fell into
sleep" but that didn't sound nearly as nice and the real meaning
        was the same
        * written "yurenagara", but it
sounds like he says something different (that is not in my dictionary)
        * when I say "that phrase", I
am referring to the one in Syunikiss that he kept repeating at her death

*sigh* I tried to keep the same number
of syllables in the lines the same as they were
in the Japanese and now it sounds horrid. However, I do not feel like
        going back and fixing it.
There were a lot of notes for this one. The way Gackt wrote the lyrics
        is interesting;
he drew connections between different words by writing one word and then
        substituting
another one in the actual song to give it a deeper meaning. Ah well, I'm
just glad I caught them ^^
The beginning reminds me of King Lear just after Cordelia died. Here,
        read...
Lear: "Do you see this? Look on
her! Look, her lips/ Look here, look here..."
But anyhow I'm reluctant to say that
the sky is "heaven," although that seems to be the best fit.
I just don't think they're all that Christian, and anyone reading these
        translations probably
has a western conception of heaven already.
