Really
heavy music started up...
*I don't remember what happened so well from here on. If
I miss a scene or get something mixed up, please let me
know.*
The music went on for a while, and then the curtains opened
and Alteration of Generations started playing. The lighting
was very green and kind of split into rays, and the stage
had this sort of calm before the storm type of feel to it.
Everyone started calling out SS's names at first, but then
the kind of stopped and waited.
When the song ended Kaya and Hora came out in their NVC
costumes, Hora with his smaller keyboard, and they went
into Perfect Garden. Kaya was singing and dancing, and Hora
would kind of urge the crowd on, coming close to the stage
and making gestures for us all to reach up to him. I did
because I was suppose to, but I realized some fans really
thought he was going to touch their hands or something.
Is that why people do that at concerts? Anyway...
The lighting was pretty purple here, and Hora was just really
fun. He moved around the stage and hyped up the crowd, and
then retreated to the left to play his keyboard.
I wanted to watch him, but I ended up watching Kaya in the
hopes of figuring out how drag queens move. Kaya moves like
a drag queen, there's no doubt about it. He used a lot of
movements in a mixture of abrupt elbow jabs, arm raising
and etc, and a lot of wrist movements as well. Like, think
really elaborate "talk to the hand." But I think what made
him so good at dancing was
1) the deliberate way he seemed to place every part of him
after he had moved. He would start out really gracefully
and then just :stop: slightly before going on to the next
sequence. The overall effect was one of complete control
over just about everything on the stage but Hora. Hora does
gangster dramatics and makes faces (>_<)
2) The way he moves his eyes and breathes, sometimes opening
his eyes really wide before certain lines and taking a deep
breath, looking down, etc. It reflected on his singing,
which conveyed a lot of emotion
(but was a bit nasal without the recording equiptment to
smooth it over).
3) He can dance. His platform boots look almost more like
army boots than anything, and to it's not like he's dancing
in Mana shoes. He's got a good base to balance on. Even
still. He span around a lot...not like "la-di-da-oooolookieroses",
but in full circles, and then broke into some cross step
footwork pretty often. Well, it's kind of like "Maze" X2.
4) He stops moving ever so slightly after the beat and doesn't
always go the way you're expecting him to.
Well, the over all image was, in my opinion, dominatrix.
It was their stage.
Afterwards Kaya said in a very small voice that he was going
to talk for a little bit and asked if it was okay, and the
fans called back, "yes." I didn't catch what he was saying
so well, but I think he might have mentioned that it had
been a long time, and how was everyone, and it's been hard
being away. The whole time he was talking fans were calling
out things to him, and he would respond or take a step back
and kind of scrunch up if someone said something a bit odd.
Kaya himself is pretty interesting. He was always fussing
with his skirt or corset, or hair, and he would kind of
pace a little bit or turn sideways when answering fan's
questions. He really liked interracting with the fans, and
kept telling them, "he was going to talk a little more,
but is that alright?" He also had us shouting something
at some point, though I forgot what. Our section got scolded
for not being loud enough...I think it was "Are you happy
to be here" or something like that They really are great.
While Kaya was talking, Hora would sit on an amp left stage
with his fingers crossed over one another and look bored.
Sometimes he would look at the crowd, or up, or make a creepy
eye movement at someone or something. There was someone
taking pictures of him at this point, so you'll probably
get to see that in the Mashoudou or a magazine or something.
After Kaya had finished talking the first time, he gave
the microphone to Hora, who pretty much said, "Hi everyone,
I'm Hora...urusai-urusai. You sure are noisy." But when
he says "urusai-urusai" it's not like "shut up" or anything.
It really is more like "hush hush", like he'd say to a barking
puppy. I thought it was great; everyone else did too.
Anyway, he started talking. He's "going to have his own
website, and a CD out around February, and there's no way
to get it as of yet so everyone write their names on the
questionarre at the end of the show. Yes, he's serious *laughs*"
Then they did...oh gosh...Creeper? was it? I know they did
creeper pretty early on. There were hand movements to it,
and while Hora was doing the chorus Kaya would be strolling
up and down the stage doing the movements for us to follow.
I was just relieved to get away from the Dix/rocker hand
thing. I had kept messing up and making a peace sign instead...you
know, I don't really pay attention to those things usually
so. but I still felt stupid.
Then they did current, transient, succubus?, and finally
NVC. They started out one of the songs synchronized, both
raising their arms straight out to their sides, and it was
funny to watch. Kaya was like "I am HERE." and Hora was
more like "BLARGGggg...." I'm sorry; I can't describe it.
Hora is Great.
Kaya went to the back stage and pulled out a whip, and licked
it. Then he danced around with it. Since NVC was last, Kaya
had us sing the chorus parts at the end like...
Hane o mogarete XXXXXXX
Atashi no mune de XXXXXXX
Hanasakumidareru XXXXXXX
Keshite samenai XXXXXXX
He would hold the microphone away and sing along too. It
was really nice.
After that he talked some more about tentative plans to
return to the stage. He doesn't know when, but he know he
wants to. Hora lurked, or sat, or went and took a drink
from a water bottle he had on the back ledge (the drums
were raised). Which reminds me. Kaya has a really manly
back. He also shops at the clothing store under Closet Child
in Harajuku. Anyway.
So after that they left the stage and it was time for MdM.
