One night, a little before the time when night softly dances to the ground,
Without reason I was walking the streets alone.
When suddenly, at the corner of the road, he caught my gaze...

He was small and thin, and seemed somehow sad.
It was as if he had lost his reason to live.

And when I saw him I wanted to hug him.
"Don't be sad anymore! No matter how bitter, how cold this world may be,
Some day, I don't know when, and I don't know what,
But some day something good will come to you!" I wanted to say.
And at that moment, I loved him from the bottom of my heart.

But eventually what I realized
Was that, while looking at him, what I was really seeing
Was nothing but myself.
