An introduction to Malice Mizer and this site:

This page is not about what is, but more about what was.
You will not find anything about Klaha or Gackt unless it pertains directly to their time in the band,
as I do not know enough about them to write with any confidence.

For those who are new to the vis kei scene, Malice Mizer was a band made up of slightly unusual individuals.
They were one of the most sucessful vis kei bands to have ever graced the Japanese music scene
and currently have 4 albums and a large number of singles to their name.
After 9 years of activity they broke up in 2001 to pursue solo careers in some cases,
and to more or less disappear in others. The current Japanese pop star, Gackt, started out his career
as their lead singer and helped bring them into the spotlight under a major record label
before going off to do his own thing.

Malice Mizer consisted of four members at the time of their breakup,
Klaha (vo), Mana (g), Kozi (g), and Yuuki (b).
There was also a drummer, Shue, who was never actually made a member of the band.
The original drummer, Kami, died back in 1999 and it would have been improper to replace him.
Mana now has his own project, Moi Dix Mois, and seems to be trying to break rom vis kei to go metal/gothic.
He still has ties to vis kei through his EGL/EGA clothing line "Moi Meme Moitie".
Meanwhile Kozi's was in Eve of Destiny with Haruhiko Ash, who is scary looking.
He's still active with his own projects. Klaha has put his activities on temporary hold,
but occasionally updates his website to say he'll be back someday.
Yuuki worked on something with Kozi and hasn't been heard from since.
