music: Hora/ lyrics: Kaya

At night's end
The silence rolls in like the waves
And lends itself to loneliness

Memories of a night gone by

I feel I'll go mad from your scent
That lingers on the chilled sheets
You, who are too far away

Yoru no hate
Nami no you ni oshiyoseru chinmoku ga
kodoku o jochou suru
Sugita yoru no kioku

Tsumetai shi-tsu ni nokoru
anata no kaori ni kuruisou ni naru
toosugiru anata

Your beautiful smile
Will tear me apart
Stop laughing; My field of vision blurs
In the glistening surface of the waters
I slowly lose sight of everything

utsukushii anata no hohoemi ga
watashi o kirikizamu no
mou warawanaide

kirameku minamo ni shikai ga nijinde
nani mo mienaku naru

Ophelia gently sinks
To the depths of a sorrowful dream
Drowning in her overflowing tears

kanashii yume no soko ni
yuruyaka ni shizumu ofi-ria
afureru namida ni oborete yuku

It's fine if it's a dream
It's fine if it's a lie

Just stay here by my side

yume de mo ii
uso de mo ii

soba ni ite

The moonlight illuminates
A transparent sorrowful lie

Promises much too frail and innocent

I beg of you
Don't continue
To be kind

I'm weary so give me your answer, please

tsuki akari ni terasare
sukitooru kanashii uso
amari ni mo moroi mujaki na yakusoku

onegai douka kore ijou
yasashiku nante shinaide
mou tsukareta kara kotae o kudasai

Your beloved gaze
And your gentle voice

Oh to leave them all behind
I can't forget them though
I don't want to forget them so...

Caught up in frail conflicted emotions
I start to suffocate

itoshii manazashi
yasashii koe o

wasuresaritai
wasurerarenai
wasuretakunai

mujun suru zeijaku na kono kanjou ni
iki mo dekinaku naru

Ophelia sinks to despair
In overflowing feelings that slip by
Drowning amongst feigned love

afurete koboreru omoi
zetsubou ni shizumu ofi-ria
itsuwari no ai ni oborete yuku

It's fine if it's a dream
It's fine if it's a lie

As long as you hold me tight

yume de mo ii
uso de mo ii

dakishimete

Ah, I sink deeply into dreams
My memories and love swept away

Those thousands of millions of nights
In which I thought of you
Fade like foam upon the sea

aa fukaku yume ni shizumu
kioku mo ai mo nagasarete

anata o omotta
ikuoku no yoru ga subete
awa no you ni kiete yuku

Ophelia sinks to despair
In overflowing feelings that slip by
Drowning amongst feigned love

afurete koboreru omoi
zetsubou ni shizumu ofi-ria
itsuwari no ai ni oborete yuku

It's fine if it's a dream
It's fine if it's a lie

As long as you hold me tight

yume de mo ii
uso de mo ii

dakishimete

From Kaya's Ophelia Insert:

The title for this song was taken from the Ophelia in Shakespeare's [Hamlet].
The [Hamlet] I saw several years back was truly wonderful.
And within it, Ophelia's sorrow especially burnt itself fast into my heart.
From that day on I thought of how I'd like to make her a motif for one of my songs.

Too pure, Ophelia.
Strong, and transient Ophelia.

Emotions left unheard, love unrequited, relations forbidden, this work was born from the world of tragic love that is the focus of my songs, in sympathy with Ophelia's pure butstrong, pure but dangerous grief.

I've challenged myself with various types of music since going major, so I thought it nice to return to my origins just once more, and created this song.
Precisely, it could be said it's a [revival of my beginnings].

On the composition and arrangement side, I asked for the fusion of digital and gothic.
The repeated melody on the piano and pipe organ spin together with the synth lead.
The balance with a vividly digital world is equisite, and I'm extremely fond of it.

I carefully chose the lyrics to convey a soft impression.
I hope you are satisfied with this beautiful, cruel love story.

Sorry this was late and the presentation sucks - I'm really really tired.
And my art has taken a twist...that I can't post here *lol*

Drowning is really a rather bad way to go though.
More women drown themselves than men do, but it's painful
and then you bloat up and turn purple if someone doesn't find you right away.
SO EEEW XD

Speaking of, from "The Complete Manual of Suicide" by Tsurumi Wataru.

[Of all suicide corpses, those who died by gas are said to be the most beautiful. Because the CO-Hb containing blood takes on a pink colour, your body will be coloured pink when found. If convulsions occurred the corpse's clothing will be in disarray, but there will be no damage to the body.] (133)

On that lovely note, later~
