said at one of his lives that this time his song and image
are based off of the vampire Carmilla, who first debuted
in the Victorian author Le Fanu's similarly titled story
and has since been used in all manner of media and movies.
On of which is Lareine's...Carmilla....something...
and another is "Vampire Hunter D" (the costume
similarity has been drawn)
I
highly recommend reading the story itself. It is about a
young girl, Laura, who lives in a lonely schloss on the
Eastern border of Austria with her father. One night there
is a carriage accident outside the castle entrance and,
to make a long story short, they come to accept the role
of temporary cartaker to one of the passangers, a young
girl named Carmilla. If you haven't figured it out yet,
she's a vampire. She's chosen Laura as her victim, and the
dynamic between the two has an unmistakable lesbian suggestivity
to it. Thus is Carmilla known as a "lesbian vampire".
The
story was originally written to express the anxiety connected
to female sexuality during the Victorian Era. At this time
women were thought to be/made to be assexual, and the idea
of female sexual relationships without male control was
threatening. Thus do you have a story set in the "unknown
wilderness" of east Europe where a proper English girl
is, in a sense, ruined by another beautiful, powerful, at
times "masculine" partner.

Since
Kaya said that his goal is not simply eradication of discrimination,
but eradication of SEXUAL discrimination, I think this ties
in to his concept. However his version is male, not female.
I don't know what I think of that but...well...that's not
important now, is it..>_<

And now a coincidential fact.
Did you know that there is a Kaja (pronounced "kaya")
castle on the borders of Eastern Austria, where the story
is set? It is currently undergoing renovation and will soon
be turned into a historical museum.
